The mission of the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science is to educate undergraduate and graduate students to become highly skilled in the principles and practices of computer engineering, computer science, electrical engineering and information technology and to develop electrical and computer engineers, computer scientists and information technology graduates that meet today's market needs and to educate and provide the opportunity for Masters and Ph.D. graduates to conduct scientific research in high tech and state-of-the-art research topics.

  1. Graduates will acquire sufficient academic competence in fundamental math, science, computer science principles and/or engineering principles for employment in the corresponding field.
  2. Graduates will acquire sufficient academic competence for advanced graduate studies.
  3. Graduates will demonstrate overall competence in the school's four disciplines.
  4. Graduates will demonstrate overall competence in communication skills, computer skills, problems solving skills and the ability to work in interdisciplinary teams.
  5. Students are recognized by their employers for their knowledge and skills in solving real world problems and for their professionalism.
